We weave a web of isolation around ourselves and often never open our hearts to one another, or to God for that matter.</P> <P>Where would we hope to get the insight and awareness so necessary to live our lives to the best we can if we close our eyes and hearts to what God is telling us at all times and through so many ways?</P> <P>When has he said anything to you? All the time....Right now. There is never a moment when God isn't speaking to you. There is never a time when your focused moment of silence can't penetrate the wall you have placed between yourself and God. There is never a fleeting chance that God has forgotten you....only that we have forgotten him.</P> <P>How is it possible that we have gone so many centuries and haven't really found God? How is it possible that we have created dozens and hundreds of religions...all claiming to have found God? Where did God go that we think we must seek him out and find him?</P> <P>God never went anywhere...we did. To connect with our unhidden God, all you need is a moment of silence in your heart and mind. Just stop and listen. Clear out your thoughts of the past and your apprehensions of the future and just be open to hear what he has to say to you.</P> <P>Is it possible that God's words to you will conflict with what you already believe? Yes, it may. To accept this possibility, first consider and be open to the truth that no established religion has provided the true path to God. If you can say that your belief has provided this true path, bear in mind that had you been raised in and believed in another religion instead, you would say the same thing about that belief as well. Every religion believes to some degree that they are the single right way and that all other religions are wrong or misleading. To stand so firmly that your belief is the only absolute path to God, you have terminated your ability to hear the truths God would have you know.</P> <P>How is it possible that our worlds religions and beliefs are all right while they are also all wrong? Because....<b>All Beliefs Are Mistaken To Some Degree</b>. How can that be? Because we are not taking the time to truly listen to God. We had written most of our own doctrine to suit our own needs, or what we perceived to be the needs of others. ANYTHING that a doctrine consists of that requires a physical act to satisfy God, is not based upon spiritual truth and therefore had to have been conceived by man. God is a spiritual being and we are spiritual beings as well. There is nothing we can physically do that He either desires or requires. How or why would a spiritual being require physical things?</P> <P>The Bible is one of the worlds most referenced to books with respect to religion. In many circles, it is considered to be the exact words that God would have you hear and believe. It is rarely considered that the stories were written by normal men. It is rarely considered that these men had other purposes and ideologies to achieve when they wrote what they wrote. I do believe these men were inspired, but not in everything they said or believed to be true. Just because they believed God said something to them, doesn't mean that God did or that God said it in the way they understood it. In addition, their explanations of why things happened on the earth are based upon having an angry and judgmental God, just like most primitive tribes believed in their gods. The writers and believers of the early times were primitive in their spiritual thinking and therefore could only see God as fearful and vengeful. Their writings are a direct reflection of that method of thinking.</P> <P>Let's consider Noah's Flood. Christians have long fought and argued that the story of Noah is true and have even used this story to explain the extinction of the dinosaurs. Apparently, they couldn't fit in the ark. It is claimed that the Ark now rests on a Turkish mountaintop and if found, it would finally provide evidence of their belief.</P> <P>OK, for arguments sake, let's say there was a flood of mammoth proportions... perhaps not a worldwide flood, but at least as large as their known world was at the time. How do the people of that time explain the flood to their children, and to themselves for that matter? How do they explain the purpose of the destruction and death as a result of this flood? God had to be angry, right? Why else could something like this occur? Because of their primitive ways of thinking about God, they could only consider it was done by an angry God and created a biased story to explain it. Since they survived, they could only conclude that God couldn't have been angry at them. This also concludes that those who died must have disobeied God in some way and this flood was their punishment. Just like history, the story about the flood is based upon a very narrow perception of the survivers and may not necessarily reflect the true events.</P> <P>As a quick overview, according to the Bible, God decided to flood the entire earth because some people were being disobedient to him. Let's look at this concept a little more clearly:<br> <UL> <LI>If God has all the knowing and understanding that enabled him to create an entire universe, why would he choose such a bizarre and inefficient method of killing the disobedient people in the villages nearby? <LI>Would a loving and peaceful God destroy ALL LIFE on the planet just to punish a small group of disobedient people? Isn't all life precious? </UL> <P>From another point of view, if the flood had occured, is it possible that God knew the earth was about to undergo some natural, but dramatic change and that Noah was one of the only people open to hear God at the time and therefore he was one of the only ones spared? Is it possible that the others weren't punished, but since they did not open their hearts to hear God, they perished in the flood? Story or not, the moral should be...<i>"Noah's heart was open to hear God and was provided with a better path to follow as compared to the those who did not open their hearts to hear God."</i> God never pushes you to do what you don't want to, but he will provide a better path to follow if you are open to him.</P> <P>God never has and never will do anything out of anger. That's a human trait. We might explain things in a way that makes God the bad-guy, but that's our limited and primitive mind telling a story and it's not God's truth. He is not hiding from us. The truth is not hiding from us. We only need to be willing to set aside those things we currently hold as our truths and then we will see the truths of God in front of us, where they always were. Truth and Peace are the natural states of all being.</P> <P>Here is a direct message from God to all of you:</P> <P><i>I am here and I am waiting for your hearts to open and your eyes to choose to see the truth that I would have you see and not the truth as man would have you see. There is so much that needs to be healed in your lives and we can start at any time to begin your healing. Trust in me and we will walk the path together. I am you. You are me. We are one. There is nothing you are doing or have done that can get between us. It is written "Seek and you shall find", but I am not hiding, so consider this instead, "Stop seeking the things of this world and you will find I am already here". You don't have to find me, you just have to lose your iron grip on what the world has taught you and simply be open to hear me. I will do the rest. I will heal your mind and heart. I will help you on your path and will do everything necessary to bring you home. Feeling guilty has only to do with what you have been taught is a wrong or bad thing. It all depends upon the culture you were raised with and what your parents, religious leaders and peers have taught you to feel guilty about.</P> <P>Guilt is one of the worlds largest dilemmas. Most of what we do is based upon feeling guilty about one thing or another. Even more so, our lives are based upon inflicting guilt upon others in order to get what we want. This concept of guilt is what keeps us separated from each other and it's what keeps us separated from our Creator.</P> <P>Guilt is based upon fear, which means it can't be a product of our Creator. God exists as perfect Love and since <i>Perfect Loves Casts Out All Fear</i>, fear can not exist where God exists and if God exists within you, guilt need not exist there. Why is it then that we have made guilt so real in our lives and in the lives of those around us? <b>Because we really don't have the completeness of God at the center of our being</b>. If we did, we would and could only LOVE at all times. We would fear nothing, knowing that fear only exists as a mistaken perception. Having no fear within us, we would not feel guilty before our Creator, nor would we use guilt and fear to manipulate those around us.</P> <P>Removing guilt in your relationships with people is a very important step towards awakening your awareness of your oneness with them and with your Creator. Consider the following things: <UL> <LI CLASS="norm">Do you feel people are obligated to either pay for or return your favors? <UL TYPE="NONE"> <LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #DC143C;"><b class="big">W</b>ithout the proper motivation, we often do things for others with the expectation of the favor being returned. We make our friends and family obligated...GUILTY before our hearts and now they OWE you. <LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #006400;"><b class="big">N</b>ever do favors, just DO. Never lend, just GIVE. If you can let your heart be lead by LOVE and expect nothing back, you have not placed guilt upon anyone and they remain free. Where Shakespeare states in Hamlet, <i>"Neither a borrower nor a lender be"</i>, it doesn't mean to deny a persons request, but to do it without obligation and without placing guilt. Also, by giving in this way, you have not made the other a Borrower either. <P><LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #DC143C;"><b class="big">O</b>ften, the simplest things in life become so complicated. When you say "I love you" to somebody, do you feel cheated if the gesture is not immediately returned? Have you said it because it was a wonderful thought in your heart or because you want somebody to say it to you? Do you want people to appear to love you out of guilt and obligation or to truly love you? <LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #006400;"><b class="big">T</b>he concept of <i>"I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine"</i> is so very mistaken. If we thought others would genuinely Love us, we wouldn't feel the need to make them feel obligated to Love us or to do for us. Somewhere, we have gotten it into our heads that we are unworthy of Love from each other and especially from God. </UL> <P><LI CLASS="norm">Do you do things to deliberately make others feel guilty and/or sorry for you? <UL> <LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #DC143C;"><b class="big">A</b> leading excuse for getting others to love you is to be sick. You have the capacity to create your own sicknesses and sometimes you might either create or allow a sickness for the sole purpose of placing that guilt upon yourself or others in order to get attention. <LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #006400;"><b class="big">M</b>any of us welcome sickness as a means to secure the love and attention of others, but this is not the best way to show your need for love. Not only will it eventually destroy your body, but it adversely affects all those around you. God wants you well, as do all your loved ones. You can CHOOSE to improve and be well and still find love and attention without making others feel guilty of your situation. <P><LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #DC143C;"><b class="big">A</b>nother way we sometimes pass guilt onto others is to ensure they are very aware of a bad circumstance in your life and to make them feel obligated enough...guilty enough to help you out. <LI CLASS="none" STYLE="color: #006400;"><b class="big">O</b>ften the bad situation you are in is something you allowed to be brought on, for the sole purpose of ensuring others will help you. When you feel as though you can't do it alone, we tend to think it's necessary to place guilt upon those around us in order for them to help us. God is always there to help...and you don't have to make him feel guilty. He knows your needs. </UL> </UL> </P> <P>The bottom line is that placing guilt upon anyone else or even upon yourself, does not do anything to correct the source of your real problem. The source of your problem is that you fear many things and you are not looking to face these fears, only to make them somebody elses problem. Others may be able to get you by, but only with an open heart and true desire can God heal you of these fears. Only with Gods help can you be released from the prison built by your guilt.</P> <P>Know this and believe this...<b>You Are Guilty Of Nothing</b>. God loves you. He loves you more than any of us can even begin to fathom. You are a bright and shining spirit in his eyes and the only one who sees this differently is you. God already accepts you for who you are and is just waiting for you to accept him as he is...flawless and full of love...just like your true spirit really is.</P> <P><i>"He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone"</i> When Christ spoke these words, he knew that everyone present felt guilty about one thing or another. He also knew that their desire to exact punishment upon this woman was just a ruse to quench their own feelings of guilt. By making them see the similarity they had with the woman in question, they could not continue their task. Had they been more open to hear God, they would have already been provided with the realization that their guilt was not real and that they are one with God and with the woman in question.</P> <P>Ask for peace in your heart and for the truth to be revealed to you. Truth will never hurt you or imprison you, but it will set you free from all guilt and fears. Also, by giving in this way, you have not made the other a Borrower either. Often, the simplest things in life become so complicated. When you say "I love you" to somebody, do you feel cheated if the gesture is not immediately returned? Have you said it because it was a wonderful thought in your heart or because you want somebody to say it to you? Do you want people to appear to love you out of guilt and obligation or to truly love you? The concept of "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" is so very mistaken. If we thought others would genuinely Love us, we wouldn't feel the need to make them feel obligated to Love us or to do for us. Somewhere, we have gotten it into our heads that we are unworthy of Love from each other and especially from God. Do you do things to deliberately make others feel guilty and/or sorry for you? A leading excuse for getting others to love you is to be sick. You have the capacity to create your own sicknesses and sometimes you might either create or allow a sickness for the sole purpose of placing that guilt upon yourself or others in order to get attention. Many of us welcome sickness as a means to secure the love and attention of others, but this is not the best way to show your need for love. Not only will it eventually destroy your body, but it adversely affects all those around you. God wants you well, as do all your loved ones. You can CHOOSE to improve and be well and still find love and attention without making others feel guilty of your situation. Another way we sometimes pass guilt onto others is to ensure they are very aware of a bad circumstance in your life and to make them feel obligated enough...guilty enough to help you out. Often the bad situation you are in is something you allowed to be brought on, for the sole purpose of ensuring others will help you. When you feel as though you can't do it alone, we tend to think it's necessary to place guilt upon those around us in order for them to help us. God is always there to help...and you don't have to make him feel guilty. He knows your needs. The bottom line is that placing guilt upon anyone else or even upon yourself, does not do anything to correct the source of your real problem. The source of your problem is that you fear many things and you are not looking to face these fears, only to make them somebody elses problem. Others may be able to get you by, but only with an open heart and true desire can God heal you of these fears. Only with Gods help can you be released from the prison built by your guilt. Know this and believe this...You Are Guilty Of Nothing. God loves you. He loves you more than any of us can even begin to fathom. You are a bright and shining spirit in his eyes and the only one who sees this differently is you. God already accepts you for who you are and is just waiting for you to accept him as he is...flawless and full of love...just like your true spirit really is. "He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone" When Christ spoke these words, he knew that everyone present felt guilty about one thing or another. He also knew that their desire to exact punishment upon this woman was just a ruse to quench their own feelings of guilt. By making them see the similarity they had with the woman in question, they could not continue their task. Had they been more open to hear God, they would have already been provided with the realization that their guilt was not real and that they are one with God and with the woman in question. Ask for peace in your heart and for the truth to be revealed to you. Truth will never hurt you or imprison you, but it will set you free from all guilt and fears. There was a state of euphoria that had to be reached and maintained, but when it faded, so did the presence of God.</P> <P>Often, I had been in a state of total bliss, tears of joy flowing and I would know God is with me. I was on my path and his obvious presence made proof of it. I was so on track, but later that day, he'd be gone again and I would know something had changed. Then, to get him back, I had to get everything within me welled up to the point where I could feel him again. What was wrong?</P> <P>I look back now on those moments and see the trap God helped me escape from. I see the trap where my mind interpreted severe emotional states of mind with being in the presence of God. I can clearly see how I was letting myself be ruled by my emotions and I believed I needed to reach that state of euphoria in order to be in touch with God.</P> <P>I look back now and know that he was there at every moment, whether I had worked myself into an emotional frenzy or not. I look back now and realize that letting my emotions run away was not the best way for me to reach God. As much as severe emotions might have helped me believe I could reach God at times, their eventual absence always made me feel as though he had abandoned me somehow, for some reason.</P> <P>I look back now and know that my emotions have little or nothing to do with God living within me. God is a spiritual being, as are we. Emotions are a thing of our mind and although our minds are connected to our spirits, the spirit should be controlling the mind, not our emotions.</P> <P>Emotional euphoria is a <i>spiritual drug</i>, and like all drugs, it doesn't fix the cause of the problem, but gives you an apparent effect that always goes away. Like all drugs, you eventually have to come down. Coming down is painful and fearful at times. It creates a sense of distance and separation. Drugs are helpful, but should not be used forever. You need to fix the cause and then you won't need the drug.</P> <P>A spiritual drug is anything that helps you believe beyond your current perception of your abilities. Some other spiritual drugs are crosses, figures, oils, crystals, charms, churches, blessed water, sacred places, etc. There are also the beliefs in other people to do your healings and miracles for you. Most of us can't believe enough in ourselves, so we look to another to believe for us.</P> <P>A good example would be when Jesus was healing a blind man. The man wanted to be healed, but did not believe enough in himself or Jesus for the healing to occur on it's own, so Jesus gave him a placebo... gave him a spiritual drug that helped him believe. Jesus spit on his hands and rubbed it over the blind mans eyes. With the first occurrence, the mans faith improved his vision, but did not heal it. Jesus touched him again and the man was then healed. Jesus healed because he knew he could, but most of those that were healed, were healed by themselves, due to their faith in God. He said <i>"<b>Your Faith</b> has healed you"</i>. Your faith is the combination of your faith in God and faith in yourself as being a worthy extension of God. We all have what Jesus had. Each of us is a Son of God like Jesus and so we all have the capacity to heal and perform miracles. All of us. Jesus still controls the timing of the miracle because we don't see the full picture yet, but our true faith and belief unties his hands to let that miracle happen exactly when it should.</P> <P>To ask for healing <i>"In the name of Jesus"</i> is fine. He is there to help us and if a singular faith in him helps us to believe what our Father has already promised us, then so be it. Just understand that he is like us and we are like him. He came to show us what we can do...without limitation and on our own. Understand also, that the only way you can do something "on your own", is because you are joined with all the Sons of God, including Jesus, and whatever you accomplish is through us all and because of us all. We are one, so don't set Jesus apart from you. He is one with you. Anything you do is through him and all the Sons of God, whether you recite the words or not.</P> <P>Spiritual drugs are necessary whenever you can't reach a point on your own. However, they are not a replacement for truly believing in yourself and your creator, but they are stepping stones to be used and eventually set aside for the truth. The truth is that God gave us everything we need to be totally joyful, healthy and at peace. Give God a chance and believe in yourself. He already believes in you because he knows the real you. Do you have thoughts of being totally accepted, having complete confidence and the knowledge of God's blessings in everything you do? Do you have thoughts of no condemnation, purity in spirit and freedom from all forms of bondage?</P> <P>If not, then you don't know who you are.</P> <P>You can also ask, "<i>What do people see when they look at me?</i>". If they don't see the same thing, they aren't seeing you for who you really are either. Even when you look at others, are you seeing them for who they really are?</P> <P>Whether you accept it or not, believe it or not, practice it or not or acknowledge it or not, you are a creation of God; a spiritual being. God didn't create you out of thin air. He took a part of himself and made it into you. That's how he can call us his Sons; his children. We are his offspring in every true sense of the word.</P> <P>You are not a body. Your body is an important instrument of your spirit; a vehicle, but it is not who you are. Are you disabled or ill? Your body or brain may be disabled or ill, but it is not who you are. It's not possible for your spirit to be disabled or ill. Are you hungry, or tired or depressed or mad? Your spirit can be none of these and therefore those feelings don't reflect who you really are.</P> <P>It can be difficult to look at a beggar in the street and know that he is a beautiful spirit, just like you, with all the love and peace of God at his disposal. It can be even harder to imagine a mass murderer as a child of God as well, but they both are. We all are. What our bodies look like and the things we often do, have no reflection to what is really inside us and does not reflect often enough as to who we really are.</P> <P>OK, I know this sounds way out there, but reflect on those thoughts for a moment and let them sink in. God created us in his image, but God does not have a body. God is a spiritual being, as are we, as are you. Your body is just the means by which you can serve God. There is no other purpose for it. It's just a physical manifestation that represents you, but everything physical eventually dies and ceases to exist. Your brain may be the most complicated electrochemical computer ever designed, but it's not who you are, because it dies. You never die because spirits don't die.</P> <P>Let's go further now. We are also all part of the same spirit. Your body has fingers, hair, kidneys, skin, etc. and they are all part of the same body. No single one of them is the body, but the body is also not complete without them. Likewise, we are all part of the spirit of God. Each of us has our own distinctive purpose and each of us is a vital part of the spirit of God. How well or poorly any one of us does, has impact on all others because we are all of the same spiritual body.</P> <P>Who am I? I am a Son of God. I am an instrument of Gods will. I am an eternal spiritual being that exists in this physical form but for a split second of my existence. I am a teacher and a student of Gods truths. I am Christ's little brother. I am my Fathers son.</P> <P>In this world, this reality that our bodies exist in, we need not allow ourselves to feel restricted or held back by its inherent limitations. Nothing is impossible to God and his children. Don't worry about yesterday. Don't concern yourself about tomorrow. Today, today and this moment is the only thing that really exists. Your brain can conjure all kinds of scenarios about your future or dwell relentlessly upon your past, but it can't do anything about them, so why waste your time dwelling there? Focus on now, this moment. Who are you? What would you allow God to do with your life? What is too big for God to handle or figure out? What portion of your future can't he handle? Which of your needs is he unaware of?</P> <P>When you finally accept the truth that you have no control over your future, then you can give its control back to God, where it belongs. Then you can expect to see God moving in your life. You need to realize that no amount of planning, scheduling or preparation for your future has anything to do with your true happiness and Gods will for your life. Let it all go. All of it. Only then is a happy and blessed future ensured. Only then are you freeing God to help you, bless you, freely talk to you and be one with you.</P> <P>My favorite verse that sums it all up is Matthew 6:33. Prior to this verse, Christ was explaining how the birds are fed and the flowers are arrayed and that if God takes care of things that will perish shortly, how much more does he desire to take care of us. Then my favorite verse -"<i><b>Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these others things will be added to you.</b></i>" In other words, stop planning and trying to figure out your life and your future and the futures of others and just learn to understand who you really are and how important this moment is between you and God. Then, and only then, will you have untied Gods hands to do for you those things he most desires. Pray for what God knows to be the best thing for you and you will never be disappointed. Pray on your own for a new car, a raise or for people around you to change, and you may be disappointed. You still might get them because of your own ability to create the situation, but they may not make you happy. Always pray for <b>God's will</b> to be done in your life. If you really mean it, you will not be disappointed with the results.</P> <P>With prayer, the effects sometimes take a while to be seen. Think of your prayer as a stone cast into the middle of a lake. It makes a big impact, but it takes a while for the ripples to reach your feet on shore. Just because you don't immediately see the ripples at your feet, doesn't mean the prayer didn't make an impact. You've been answered and the ripples are on their way. God's timing is perfect. You can call him what you will and believe him to be what you want him to be, but most of these beliefs only hint to the truth of what his real message to us was and still is. If you seek to understand his message, you will understand, because truth never changes.</P> <P>Established religion has painted a very inflexible image of the man who came here to save us from ourselves and guide us into a new era of spirituality. The personality that is Christ was lost and we view him as a super human, far exceeding what we can become. That couldn't be more untrue. He was totally human, like you. He was a spirit, a fellow Son of God, having a human experience, like you. He laughed, he cried, he sighed, he angered, he felt loneliness, he felt betrayal, he felt despair, he felt frustration, he felt the need to be hugged.</P> <P>Do you think Christ never ran to his mother as he was growing up, to be held by her as he was worn weary by the images and concepts that were being revealed to him as he grew? As a young child, do you think he never cried that he was sorry when he brushed up against his mothers pottery, dropping the bowl and smashing it? You need to understand that he was totally human. In every way. Overall, his strength was that he knew so very deeply in his heart that all things could work together for good, no matter how good or how tragic they may first appear. You can aspire to be like him because you already are like him. You just have to believe it.</P> <P>Christ's message to us was very simple, yet based upon his teachings, religion has created tons of rules and guidelines to follow. In this noble process,the most important thing he taught is not stressed often enough and sometimes, not at all: <b>Live by the spirit of love.</b></P> <P>The purpose of a rule is to protect inexperienced individuals from harming themselves or harming those around them. A good example would be climbing the stairs. As a child, you are not allowed to climb the stairs. You lack the physical ability to climb them safely and you lack the intellect to know when climbing the stairs is necessary. You are required to follow a rule for your own good.</P> <P>As children of our creator, we needed to be told at one time that killing was wrong; that stealing was wrong; that lying was wrong. In those days our minds were nearly barbaric in nature and we really did not know any better. God had to write it down for us. As a species, we were very young and unable to come to those conclusions on our own. Like a child, we had to be told what we could and could not do, for our own good.</P> <P>Thousands of years went by and a child was born, a messiah, a saviour, a messenger, a prophet, a teacher to reform the world as we knew it. Life here would never be the same again. His message was that there are no rules, so just throw them away. His message was that we have grown past needing to live by rules, rituals and inflexible structure. The established religions of the time could not bear to lose the self righteousness and illusion of safety and uniqueness that their "structure" provided and would eventually kill him for it.</P> <P>People love structure, but God is not structure. People love knowing that if they follow a few rules that they are safe, but God is not rules. People love knowing they are right and that they have found the one true path to God, but God is everywhere and is easier to communicate with than breathing. God is the totally true spirit of love. Christ's message is that the time for living by structure, rules and man-made illusion is past. It's the time for living by love.</P> <P>As with a growing child who is told there is no longer any rules or restrictions for using the stairs, Christ's message is that we have matured to some degree and it is time to understand the purpose behind the rules so that the rules would no longer have to exist. "Do not kill" as just words means to not bring a person to the point of death, but the Spirit of the rule is that you should not even allow yourself to become angry with the person in the first place. When you live by the Spirit of love, there is no need for rules because pure love does not have restrictions that need to be applied.</P> <P>Misplaced rules do more harm than good. As a young child, not using the stairs is a good and necessary rule, but as an adult, that same rule would prevent you from being able to function normally. Spiritual rules also are for the young, but as a spiritually matured people, we need to look beyond practicing the rules and begin living by the spirit behind the rules. In many cases, the rules you live by are restricting your ability to move forward in your walk with your creator. Don't place restrictions that are not meant to be there. As an adult, you are not breaking the rule of climbing the stairs, you are surpassing the need for the rule to exist at all. Surpass the rules that keep God and Christ tucked away in a little corner of your life. They didn't make those rules, we did.</P> <P>When asked what the two greatest commandments were, Christ quoted the first two which implicitly state that you must love your God and love your neighbor as yourself. All you need is love. Nothing else matters. That is the only rule. Where there is love, there is strength to change the things in your life for the better. Love is all you need. Love is all you need. Love is all you need.</P> <P>Bottom line, this Christmas Season, as you allow yourself to feel the Spirit of the season and notice yourself being kinder and gentler to those around you, bear in mind that the reason you like this feeling, this Spirit of Christ<span style="font-size: 80%;">mas</span>, is because it's what you are really all about. It's who you really are. The real you. You are a creature of Love. You are made with Love, by Love, to Love. It's as natural for you to love as it is to breathe. There are so many things around us that we don't understand or just can't begin to comprehend. These unknown factors are automatically feared by us since they are alien to the way we think and perceive our lives.</P> <P>Consider the way we treat people around us. So many of our ethnic disputes and hatred for other races has to do with not understanding them, therefore fearing them, therefore wanting to destroy them. When you walk past a group of people speaking a language you don't understand and using gestures unknown to you, it's not uncommon for fear to rise up inside you. This is the seed of racism.</P> <P>To get a better understanding of what darkness is, consider that darkness in the spiritual world can be perceived in a similar way to darkness in the physical world. When you don't understand something as it stands, parables or metaphors are the best route to take to get a better picture.</P> <P>Imagine yourself camping in the dense jungle. You wake up late at night to find the campfire had gone out and there is only some moonlight to see by. Even so, the trees block most of the moonlight out. The air is filled with a whirlwind of sounds that make you nervous and jittery. A sudden movement nearby makes you jump and turn around, heart beating ever so faster. Even the wind blowing through the trees sends streams of fear down your spine. You are afraid because you can't see what is making those noises and what is moving around. You are afraid because your mind has been programmed that anything unknown is dangerous or threatening. It's the "Shoot first, ask questions later" type of thinking. </P> <P>If the jungle suddenly lit up you would see there were monkeys and beautiful parrots nearby. You would see the palms and leaves on the trees ever so beautifully swaying in the wind. Your fear would vanish at once because your mind can now comprehend what it sees. It no longer has to ponder what may be making those noises. Your mind no longer creates illusions for you to belive in and to draw fear from. The absence of darkness is light, just as the absence of fear is love and understanding.</P> <P>Our spiritual path has many of the same characteristics. We fear things we don't understand or have no apparent control over. How could we not be afraid of the things we can't see and understand? Is there a God? Are there miracles? Who made me? What is my purpose? Do I have a path to follow? Sometimes were afraid of what the answer might be. Other times were afraid because we just don't know what the answer is. Fear is darkness. Darkness is fear.</P> <P>Being able to walk confidently through the darkness requires unconditional trust in your creator. You must learn to be thankful for everything that happens, which includes all the good and bad things. Why the bad things too? Because, since you are shrouded in darkness, you only perceive the event or situation as bad. You are not seeing things for what they really are. We all see things from such a narrow and biased point of view, but your creator sees the whole picture, and so it's critical that you trust your creator at all times.</P> <P>The reality however is that there is nothing in the darkness to fear as long as you keep your creator in your heart and at the helm of your life. You must trust him as you walk in the darkness, totally blinded by the fears of life and death, while holding his hand and allowing him to lead you through. As you grow and learn, little by little, it will get brighter and brighter and you will see things more clearly. There are so many things around us that we don't understand or just can't begin to comprehend. These unknown factors are automatically feared by us since they are alien to the way we think and perceive our lives. Consider the way we treat people around us. So many of our ethnic disputes and hatred for other races has to do with not understanding them, therefore fearing them, therefore wanting to destroy them. When you walk past a group of people speaking a language you don't understand and using gestures unknown to you, it's not uncommon for fear to rise up inside you. This is the seed of racism. Learn To Forgive

Now imagine a circumstance arose by which you felt betrayed by that loved one. Whether you really were betrayed does not matter. The fact you felt betrayed is the only thing that counts, because real or not, it is very real to you.</P> <P>Without facts and knowledge, you have only your perceptions, but you might not be seeing things as they really are and should not put that much weight in their conclusions. All too often, you don't see the full picture or have all the facts, so you should allow yourself to consider that your perception of a situation may be distorted, even though it seems clear to you. You could very easily have erred with that person and you wouldn't have a clue as to how, why or where you are wrong. You can only conclude that the sun orbits the earth since you would definitely feel the earth moving if it were spinning. Never trust your perceptions by themselves.</P> <P>Throughout your life, you may find it difficult to trust that person, or even to face them at all. We all experience the sense of betrayal differently, but it usually consists of feelings of anger, distrust, distance and uneasiness. It might also contain feelings of guilt and remorse for the relationship you wish you had, but don't.</P> <P>For most people, betrayal is treated by simply putting that other person out of your life. If you don't see them or talk to them, they can't hurt you any more. It is a form of denial, in that you are denying the possibility of the situation being repaired. Since you can't even begin to comprehend how to repair the problem, keeping distance between the both of you appears to be the best solution.</P> <P>Sooner or later, a situation may arise whereby you are in dire need of help and this person extends their hand to you. Your knowledge of the person ensures you that they can help you, but how could you possibly trust this person? How could you possibly let yourself be put into the position again where this person can betray you? In addition, letting this person help you would require you to forgive them, and that is exactly what you have to do. <b>Forgive</b>. If this were accomplished, there would be instant opportunities to establish trust. Once you trust, you can build. There will be no obstacle you can't overcome.</P> <P>You have the opportunity to create the foundation for a new beginning with anyone in or outside of your life. Whether you have a current need of them or not, having unconditionally forgiven them will open the doors of peace and trust. This will provide an opportunity to build a new relationship.</P> <P>How do you forgive? There a just a few simple things you must consider:</P> <OL> <P><LI CLASS="norm"><b style="font-size: 120%;">Nothing in the past can be undone</b><br> Restitution can be made for past events, such as replacing property stolen or fixing items broken, but you can not undo the fact that the situation occurred. You need to let go of the past by understanding it has no meaning for what you are trying to accomplish today. You can learn from the past, but you can't live there. Let it go. It will only hold you back. Your future and the future of those around you do not have to be based upon the past. Think of your grown children. At some point you must forget how you viewed them in the past or you will always view and treat them as a child. Just as you release the past for your children to accept them as grown adults today, you must release the past for those that hurt you and treat them as unblemished today. If you let go of the past, forgiveness is automatic. <P><LI CLASS="norm"><b style="font-size: 120%;">The future can not be controlled</b><br> Promises are our way of creating bonds with loved ones and business partners, but how shallow and how pointless are these promises when we realize that there is no way we can guarantee what the future may hold. We can't control the future. We can't control what we promised it would be. If our promises are not kept, we are both at fault for having believed the future could be controlled in some way. Make goals; have dreams; have expectations, but don't cast blame when things don't unfold as planned. There should be nothing to forgive because you are both equally wrong for having put faith in such expectations. Learn from it, grow from it, plan for it, but never cast blame. Just keep moving forward. <P><LI CLASS="norm"><b style="font-size: 120%;">Today is all that matters</b><br> Having set aside guilt or hatred from the past and not allowing yourself to be stressed or affected by events that may or may not happen in the future, <b>Today</b> is the most wonderful and beautiful day of your life. Your ability to think, feel and appreciate will grow to levels you never dared dream, and the peace of living will return to you. Life is not stressful once you've let go of the past and stopped looking so far into your future. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never happen. Live for today. Pursue The Truth

All too often the emphasis is made to improve our surroundings, but the real place to start any improvement is from within.</P> <P>There are so many levels and so many steps that can be made to improve your own self image and I won't even try to describe them all, however, there are a few basic principles that can give you the power and ability to make real change within yourself and give you power over your true Inner Design.</P> <P>The hardest and most important step you can ever make is to be honest with yourself. Before you say you are, really think about it. To be truly honest with yourself means that you let yourself see the real source of your motives, fears, desires, shortcomings, failures and dreams.</P> <P>Truth, the light of life, will never be fully achieved until you open all the darkness you've allowed yourself to close in. You must confront each issue that you have been so cleverly denying or hiding away.</P> <P>A good example is "You". Earlier today something happened that you disagreed with or didn't like. Think back and note how you felt about the issue or occurrence. Note what your response was, and how you felt afterwards.</P> <P>Now, step back away from yourself for a moment and see if you can determine why you had the initial feelings. Why were you affected the way you were? What motivated the response you gave? Really and truly, why did you react the way you did?</P> <P>Learn to find out why you respond the way you do and what motivation is driving your response and you will be on the road to being truthful with yourself. Truth is never easy to find, but it's always there, bright as any star could be. You just need to remove your veils of darkness, denial and distrust so that you can actually find it.</P> <P>Having cleared your thoughts, you need to determine if your motivation was good or not. I can only suggest that any motivation that is centered around yourself and your own comfort and desires, needs to be looked at very closely. Self centered thoughts or actions are fine, just as long as you acknowledge they are self-centered.</P> <P>For example, a man attending a charitable function goes up to the podium and, holding his checkbook high in the air, announces that he will donate $5,000 to this good cause. The crowd cheers his generosity as he happily writes the check and drops it in the donation box.</P> <P>This man performed a noble deed, helping those less fortunate than himself, but what was his true motivation? Recognition. He may have some actual concern about those less fortunate than himself, but his motivation to give was driven by the anticipated high of recognition; the applause and cheers; the miniature stardom; the fame.</P> <P>If this man tries to convince himself that he made this donation for any other reason, he will be creating another dark veil within himself that protects his soul from the truth; the truth that he really doesn't care about anyone and perhaps that nobody really cares about him; the truth that he needed to "BUY" his love and attention.</P> <P>Truths like that can be painful and so they are almost always hidden, creating an even uglier shade of black inside. The key is to not let it happen in the first place. Before you act or react, check your motivation. Acknowledge it. You can still do as you please, but know why you are doing it. If you do something for recognition, that's alright. Just don't lie to yourself about it. The only way you can ever hope to remove the darkness inside is to first stop creating more darkness.</P> <P>Truth is light. Truth sets your course straight and leads the way towards a more pleasant life. Truth is the morning sunrise that fills you with awe and pronounces to the world that the energy of life can begin fresh every day. Every day is completely new, unscarred and ready for you to make the best of it. Forget yesterday. All too often the emphasis is made to improve our surroundings, but the real place to start any improvement is from within. Think back and note how you felt about the issue or occurrence. Note what your response was, and how you felt afterwards. Now, step back away from yourself for a moment and see if you can determine why you had the initial feelings. Why were you affected the way you were? What motivated the response you gave? Really and truly, why did you react the way you did? Learn to find out why you respond the way you do and what motivation is driving your response and you will be on the road to being truthful with yourself. Truth is never easy to find, but it's always there, bright as any star could be. You just need to remove your veils of darkness, denial and distrust so that you can actually find it. Having cleared your thoughts, you need to determine if your motivation was good or not. I can only suggest that any motivation that is centered around yourself and your own comfort and desires, needs to be looked at very closely. Self centered thoughts or actions are fine, just as long as you acknowledge they are self-centered. For example, a man attending a charitable function goes up to the podium and, holding his checkbook high in the air, announces that he will donate $5,000 to this good cause. The crowd cheers his generosity as he happily writes the check and drops it in the donation box. This man performed a noble deed, helping those less fortunate than himself, but what was his true motivation? Recognition. He may have some actual concern about those less fortunate than himself, but his motivation to give was driven by the anticipated high of recognition; the applause and cheers; the miniature stardom; the fame. If this man tries to convince himself that he made this donation for any other reason, he will be creating another dark veil within himself that protects his soul from the truth; the truth that he really doesn't care about anyone and perhaps that nobody really cares about him; the truth that he needed to "BUY" his love and attention. Truths like that can be painful and so they are almost always hidden, creating an even uglier shade of black inside. The key is to not let it happen in the first place. Before you act or react, check your motivation. Acknowledge it. You can still do as you please, but know why you are doing it. If you do something for recognition, that's alright. Just don't lie to yourself about it. The only way you can ever hope to remove the darkness inside is to first stop creating more darkness. Truth is light. Truth sets your course straight and leads the way towards a more pleasant life. Truth is the morning sunrise that fills you with awe and pronounces to the world that the energy of life can begin fresh every day. Every day is completely new, unscarred and ready for you to make the best of it. Forget yesterday.
