Reiki Energy Session Meditation Guide - Reiki Healing Energy is Available to Everybody

It is helpful to understand that using Reiki symbols and names to reinforce healing is not some form of wishing or magic. The purpose of the symbols and words is to provide us with momentary pause and focus. This helps direct our intention to welcome this healing energy to go where it is most helpful. Certification is not necessary. It just means a person has studied it deeply and may have more experience and success using the practices. But whether you are certified or not, it is very helpful to get used to using Reiki energy on yourself because this is a healing gift for all.

A Closer Look at Reiki Symbols, Their Meanings, and Their Use

The only thing necessary to use Reiki Energy, is your willingness to allow this energy to go where it chooses, and trust that it is guided by awareness far greater than yours.

CHO KU REI

Pronounced, choh-koo-ray, this is the first symbol or word to focus on when initiating a Reiki healing session. Invoking this Power Symbol opens the door for this energy to work through you, and brings the power of the universe directly to you.

The reason this symbol is so powerful is because it is used to access your chi which is a vital life force that exists in all living beings. In humans, it is believed that chi unites the spirit, mind and body into one. This is like focusing all the light of the sun through a magnifying glass, which dramatically increases the available power to accomplish things that could not be done otherwise.

SEI HEI KI

Pronounced, say-hay-key, this is the second symbol or word to focus on because it clears your emotional issues and helps to restore harmony to an unsettled mind. Invoking this Emotional Symbol is an invitation for spirit to join with you where you share in its oneness and clarity.

This symbol helps to remove negativity and calm your mind. You don't even have to be performing Reiki specifically to call on this power because it can help you resolve addictive behaviors and help you move away from bad habits, simply by having removed the negative energy that promotes those activities.

DAI KO MYO

Pronounced, Dye-koh-my-oh, this is the third symbol or word to focus on to open the floodgates for spirit to work through you. Initially reserved for Reiki Masters, invoking this Usui Master Symbol is an invitation for spirits great shining light to reach deep inside you and cleanse your soul.

The healing effects of this symbol are significant as it works deeply within the upper chakras and aura, plus it leads to increased psychic abilities and advances you closer to enlightenment.

This symbol is a great aid for spiritual growth and development as it vibrates at a very high level. This powerful symbol is deemed as sacred due to the high vibration it brings and its corresponding connection to spirit. Can literally be translated as Great Shiny Star which simply speaks of what you become when you act as the conduit of when this vibrational energy flows through you.

RAKU

Pronounced, ray-koo, this lightning bolt is the final symbol or word to focus on when finalizing a healing session. Invoking this Grounding Symbol sets the healing in stone, clears any negative energy and seals the energy of the healing so that is will stay with you until it completes its purpose.

Another reason to use it at the end of a session is to disconnect you from any energy entanglements. This is commonly just to help guard you against attaching to somebody elses energy after performing a session on another person, but when just working on yourself, it will help sever the ties to unhelpful entanglements with old energy patterns and habits of your own. It literally protects you from yourself.

It is also helpful to use this symbol for everyday grounding since it is the perfect recycling mechanism. It brings new energy in from above, flows it through you, then deposits any low vibrational or unhelpful energy into the ground and send it back to the universe and Source, to be used again in some other way.

HON SHA ZE SHO NEN

Pronounced, aahn-shah-zee-show-nen, we held off until last to provide this information since it is not needed when simply working on yourself, but it is being added here to illustrate an option that is used by many Reiki Practitioners and Reiki Masters. Invoking this Distance Symbol creates an energy connection between yourself and a person who is at a distance, but it goes even further than that. This symbol literally means, The higher self in me connects with the higher self in you for the purpose of peace and enlightenment.

When performing a reiki session with a distant person, whether using Zoom or not, I will generally invoke it right after invoking Cho Ku Rei. This sets the stage where this sacred connection is put in place and then everything that follows happens as though myself and the client were one and the same.

When finalizing the session, because of the intimate connection made to another, it is easy for the two sets of energy to become mingled, and it is possible to end up with something from the other person that might not be helpful, and vice-versa, so this is why it is a good idea to finalize the session by invoking the Raku symbol so that the connection between yourself and the other person is cleanly severed for both of you.

Chakra Teachings Excerpts from my Publications

The concept of Chakras originated within the Hindu culture over 4000 years ago at a time where we had a more direct connection yet with our spirit and the earth. They were believed to be channels through which universal energy can flow, and that's how we still see them today.

Starting from the base of the spine, we have the Root Chakra, above that, near belly button height is the Sacral Chakra, next, in the middle your gut is the Solar Plexus Chakra. Above that in the center of your chest is the Heart Chakra. Above that, in the center of your throat is the Throat Chakra. Next, in the center of your forehead is the Third Eye Chakra. Then finally, at the very top of your head is the Crown Chakra.

The Chakras are a hybrid or connection between our physical and spiritual being, so as much as our spirit can help improve and maintain the chakras, what we do with our body and mind can also affect the chakras. Our choice to embrace loving and peaceful thoughts helps improve the chakras. Our choice to embrace hateful and angry thoughts can cause the chakras to become unbalanced and less effective.

Likewise, what we do to our bodies can also affect our chakras. If we eat poorly, abuse substances, put too much strain on our muscles, stress our minds by pushing too hard or do not sleep enough, etc, these practices put a strain on the body and then the chakras capacity diminishes.

Knowing this now about the chakras, it's easy to see that it is extremely helpful to have them balanced often, and also to learn how to do that yourself as well. Although individual like myself have received training to work on the chakras and also to perform Reiki, healing is a natural gift that God has already placed in your hands, and it is available to you always. I will help you learn how to access it and make it available for yourself, and even others if you like.
